Chris Hani Arts Focus School is next to expect St Annes Arts College & Mpopama High (ZIM)

Norman Henshilwood High's turn to gel with All Hallows College and Gweshe Secondary ZIM

Claire Bassin landed running literally as she chose to have a day to explore Capetown's length and breadth on her own on foot, would could account for her athletic physique, and " CAN DO" attitude to life. Bring in then an understandably tired Zimbabwean, Phanuel Dirawu, arriving after a lengthy bus trip on Sunday, yet determined to be part of the newly formed trilateral partnership.  After one good night's sleep, he was looking fit to fight the world. And here they are striking a pose in front of one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Table Mountain......  Wonderful teachers' team at Norman Henshilwood, looking after these teachers day and night

- Vicky Stark and Prinevin Gordan - with excellent SMT and Headmaster's support as always, from David Millar.

Cape Academy Cluster welcome Wirral Boys/Girls and Poole Grammar High schools

This is a super cluster of nine schools-  two in the north of England - Wirral Boys and Wirral Girls Grammar - in the photo we have a South African Deputy Head for Wirral Boys,Mrs Oonah Kahn, together with Mrs Onetia Africa from Cape Academy.  We are still trying to entice Oonah
back home...   Then a HUGE hop to the south of England to Poole with Poole Grammar being the third UK school involved - where Andy Oldman is our star Co Ordinator for some years.  Then there is Cape Academy, Sans Souci High and Bardale High in Capetown.  Last but far from least are Jan Mohr High, Hage High and Ella Du Plessis High in Windhoek!  Within these schools are the souls that make these partnerships buzz, feel real and make life worthwhile.

Alexander Sinton High's exciting recycling work with University Academy of Northwich

UK Sarah Davies is like a homing pigeon as she heads for her Capetown twin, and stays with the welcoming Jantjes family at Tillas Place -that has become her second home too. This time more depth in their inspirational visual design projects. Just look at these exquisite flowers made from paper of discarded books, and then presented as a posy! And also the memory tree with personally designed tags made by the learners, standing cheerfully in the school foyer. Thank you Sarah for the joy you brought Mr Parker,Adela, Carl and team this week. This time with Wade Deacon High and Woodlands Primary - and even more exciting creative enterprise projects involving using recycling, and converting this to saleable appealing items/crafts. All with the input of skilled local and Zimbabwean crafters.  This will soon be displayed on their developing website Global Foosteps, dedicated to their cluster partnership of three UK three Capetown and three Zim schools - Mutendi Primary and High and Mutare Boys High. Behind this all is a dynamo of a UK Design Technology teacher, Krysia Balance

Neston High (UK)and Goldridge College (ZIM) enjoy the Bergvliet High's hospitality

Sweet Valley Primary's new eco vegetable organic garden... Reduce, Reuse,Recycle

How does your garden grow?...Well if your child attends Sweet Valley Primary in Bergvliet, Capetown, he or she will be gaining skills for the future for healthy preparation of home vegetables and learning how to be gentler on Mother Earth..
Their UK visiting Educators here admire that efforts of the school to gear children for the future as well as commend their Champion eco gardener parent Shelley Hindmarch.
Shelley sourced EVERYTHING using recycling - from the wine barrels through to the rain guage to catch water.  Even an owl's nest presides over their accomplishments, and hopefully a wise owl may soon be casting a beady eye over the healthy looking produce!

Very well done Shelley, Ian Ryan and Ruth Koopman for believing in the efforts as part of their contribution too to joint environment projects with their twinned schools.

Nsezi High' s Mkhuphuki Ncube sees the sea in Capetown for the first time...

How do you convince a Zimbabwean, who has seen the sea once only before on his visit to his UK twin school in Plymouth, to face you for a photo when he knows there are potential sharks in the sea behind him?   The answer is....
with extreme difficulty!
