Cecil Rhodes Primary in Zimbabwe

Here is Cecil Rhodes Primary, Kwe Kwe,Zimbabwe,  twinned with Helsby Hillside Primary, Cheshire, and Boston Primary, Bellville, Capetown.   Daily unwanted visitors include the local baboons and monkeys hopeful for a morsel or two!  Look how spotless the school is kept free from litter.  Safe cycling to school is a priority and children are educated in this regards   We are looking forward to the forthcoming visit to Capetown of both Afritwin teacher and Headmaster and their UK twin.

Mount Madonna High School in Seattle, USA, share musical inspiration together at Wynberg High, Capetown

Specialist Arts School, Wynberg High, invited Mount Madonna and also local school Norman Henshilwood High for a morning of musical inspiration, much needed in South African state schools.  Led by Headteacher Ward Maillard, the American and Capetonian teenagers gave what they could whole heartedly and so now sit back and relax for a snapshot of what you missed....................................................Jayne

Huntington Primary UK cluster twinned with Sweet Valley/Westcott/Sullivan Primaries, Capetown

Here is the final blog of the three Capetown teachers who have just left Chester in the North West of England.  This is the second exchange to the UK with different teachers taking part in what is evidently a very enriching professional and overall experience.  Full credit to Duncan Rose, Headteacher of Huntington Primary, as well as Oldfield and Whitegate Primary schools' Senior Leadership, as we see this cluster partnership grow from strength to strength. Enjoy!...............

More about Gomola Primary visit to De Kuilen Primary

We discovered that most of our recent Zimbabwean visiting teachers had never left Zimbabwe other than a few to Joburg . And the majority, including Elias Tome, had never seen the sea.  Well ,as luck would have it, or some might say Murphy's Law!, he was invited to go to Robben Island on one of the roughest sea days possible..... Here he is braving a smile for the camera..and praying that dry land will come close soon ..Bravo Elias!
Elias Tome, from Gomola Primary, in Kwe Kwe, Zimbabwe enjoys time with De Kuilen Primary learners in Kuils River, Capetown.... Elias discovered the downside of a long haul bus trip from Kwe Kwe through Joburg to Capetown, with hydraulic brake seizures, strikes leading to detours, and the virtue of a patient nature...... Well done Elias for arriving with an engaging smile and spirit! We salute you
