Chris Hani High bid farewell for now to St Annes (UK) and Mpopama High (ZIM)
Imagine the creativity involved in an Art's focussed partnership with talented Arts teachers spending a week sharing their knowledge together and swapping DVD performances. Included in this week was a visit to another Arts focussed partnership, Alexander Sinton High being the local twin, to share best practice.

Groote Schuur High Head's visit to Zim twin Magwegwe High - more photos
Can one think of two more contrasting photos - a formal assembly under the African skies and chickens who are expected to produce endless eggs for hungry children..................... all in a day's work at Magwegwe High in Zim..........
Groote Schuur High Head trailblazes to visit Zim school Magwegwe High
You know how often I hear " well it is safe to go to Zim" and how often I also hear " SA is more dangerous than visiting Zim" from Zim counterparts . Instead of pontificating, some just lead the way. Marius Ehrenreich, Principal of Groote Schuur High, is just one of those global leaders we are blessed to have in our midst in Capetown, and no wonder the school is thriving under his leadership. Once again the photos show how touched he was with this experience You must just know how special he made his Zim Head, Mr Pilate Tshuma feel in August when he came to Capetown St Aidans Technology College have a really wonderful set of twins
Westlake Primary with UK and ZIM Headmasters - magnificent whole school welcome
If you are fortunate enough to know this very precious school, if one can call a school as such, you would know that they either "do it big, or go home" as the Head Mrs Landeka Diamond says...
So if you are invited to an assembly or function, just know that it is going to be something you are unlikely to forget in your lifetime.
Such was the occasion to make the two twin Headmasters feel like they were from true blue Royalty....
Photos speak don't they?

Chris Hani High's performing arts "wows" UK St Annes and ZIM Mpopama High
Despite exam pressures, the Headmaster, Madoda Mahlutshana, Darlington Sibanda ( his Zim Performing arts teacher of note) and the school management welcomed their UK and ZIM visitors - Paul Collins and Karen Perrins (Head of Arts and Performing arts teachers) together with a delighted Alexius Mangoro (Arts) and Yuki Nhnanganga (Deputy & Science) from Mpopama High.
On Monday they were treated to a day of music and performing arts by students as part of their examinations and auditions, which formed an ideal "arrival "day for them
Today they visit Alexander Sinton High, another Arts focus school with a very promising twinning partnership like theirs, to share best practice, and widen their friendships probably too, when they spend time with the Deputy Head, Adela Domingo, and her talented Visual Design teacher, Carl Jantjes.
They are then due to head out to Robben Island, but with the way the Cape South Easter has whooped itself up, I would rather be on dry ground....

Whitby High again this time nestled under the shadows of the mountain at Kirstenbosch
More laughter in one week than the rest of the year when you get a contrasting cluster of teachers together from the North West of England, Zim and Capetown... Here we see Mutendi High and Primary, plus Mutare Boys High - from Murare many hours travel from Harare. Despite all the travelling they arrived and left with the friendly faces you see here, and got fully absorbed in all the exciting enterprise projects being developed. Well done to the SA schools too for their bring and share meals and for the UK Design Technology teacher, Krysia Balance, for her passion to share education with SA and Zim teachers alike.
Back to Zim for Gifford High's Edna and Bridget
These are the two delightful high school teachers who have enjoyed getting to know their SA twin De Rus Academy in Grabouw, by Cromco, and their UK twin Altrincham College of Arts, in the North West of England
