Now it's Groote Schuur High (Capetown) to host 20 UK students from their twin St Aidans College & ZIM twin Magwegwe High
Another tremendous global partnership we are so proud of that grows in meaning and friendships too. Missing from this photo is one really great SA Principal, Marius Ehrenreich. Talk about a guy who leads from the front and inspires everyone he meets undoubtedly. Wish all our Principals were like him...
Here we have several UK and Zim teachers, plus the UK Principal too this time having a "wrap up" planning meeting before heading up beautiful Table Mountain in all her splendour yesterday.

Gardens Commercial High team (Capetown) showcase their school and Capetown this past week
What an absolutely fantastic life changing week two Principals (UK & ZIM) and their key teachers had being in the hands of the Gardens High Principal and senior staff and student
leadership. All staff welcomed them bringing in traditional Cape Malay foods So much so that they said they really needed some exercise in Kirstenbosch Gardens! Even tears from their Zim Head as she tried to explain her thankfulness to them all...... Great team and such great learners too their partners said - going places in their global partnerships!

Charles Darwin Primary in Northwich, Cheshire creates ERIC the Elephant inspired by their SA & ZIM partnership.....
Meet baby elephant sculpture Eric, made from scratch with just a few cardboard boxes, newspaper, bin bags and then covered in modroc! He originated in January after the Charles Darwin (UK) and Eiffel Flats (ZIM) joint exchange to Kirstenhof Primary (CAPETOWN in SA) when Year 5 pupils developed him, even when things weren't always going according to plan! Great global teaching and great justice to the British Council funding providing inspiration from exchanges like this!

Whitby High cluster mean Business!
Whitby High's inspirational Design Technology teacher Krysia Ballance must surely feel great pride to see outcomes out of her Business and Enterprise initiative to design and produce saleable crafts in each of the three countries. Here are shoes designed by the Zimbabwean partners out of car tyres! Three Zim Principals are on their way back from Manchester today after a fantastic week together. For once it was a sunny Manchester too!

Rustenberg Girls High's Zim Deputy Joseph Munhuweyi, Kriste Mambo Girls High, sees the Indian ocean on a balmy Capetown winter's day and loves it!
OK so for those of you who may be confused, Joseph is directing you left to the Indian Ocean and right to Table Mountain. Now what a choice! How can a city have two such beautiful options in one place!! No wonder Capetown is such a tourism mecca................................ Jayne

Bardale High's two learners and Maths teacher are so looking forward to being in Cheshire on the Wirral soon!
Please Please Please Home Affairs in Pretoria can you get those passport through today... These talented Mfuleni learners have so much to look forward to but the burden of all the paper work - ID documents, and the ream of information for the UK visa is a very daunting process. Wirral Boys and Girls Grammar schools and Poole Grammar have a full program ahead for Bardale, Sans Souci and The Cape Academy as well as three twins from Windhoek in Namibia. The UK twin learners have fundraised for two learners per school to accompany a teacher. Thank you to Oonah, Mike and Andy in the UK who lead the Afritwin program in each school, despite a huge own workload!

Plymouth teachers arrive in gusty stormy weather but does this matter??
Emma and Peter from Elburton Primary in Plymouth couldn't have asked for worse weather to arrive in Capetown. "Sunny South Africa" was proved to be a myth in a few hours ......... Needless to say they with two colleagues were off on the Red Bus around the mountain hoping for the "table cloth" on top to lift.
