British Council Connecting Classrooms CEO Martin Davidson visits Westlake Primary

Dressed to impress at the gate were the delightful faces of the drum majorettes, waiting anxiously to do their welcoming to the chief boss of Connecting Classrooms worldwide .  Two of the tiniest ones each held a SA and UK flag.
He was paying them a visit as he wanted to see a South African primary that was actively involved in this programme. Westlake Primary fitted the bill perfectly, with it's vibrant partnership with Middlethorpe Primary in the north east, Grimsby, UK and Hillcrest Prep, Mutare, Zimbabwe.
The assembly was launched with the whole school singing the SA anthem and then attempting the British one! A surprise birthday present was presented to the honoured guest too.  Skyping both twinned schools and then a wrap up discussion on the future plans.  A really wonderful morning...!
